Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze New Gameplay Trailers Reveal Cranky Kong, Launches on February 21st

The archaic simian of the franchise makes his character debut.

Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aime made his debut at the Spike VGX Awards to showcase some new gameplay trailer for the upcoming Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze, being developed by Retro Studios, which sees series’ character Cranky Kong make his gameplay debut. Check it out above.

Cranky Kong will be meandering through the forests of Donkey Kong Island, and can use his cane to bounce on enemies and surpass obstacles. The North American release date was also confirmed for February 21st 2014. Look good to you?

Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze will feature brand new mechanics, new levels and of course, some luscious new environments to capitalize on its predecessor. Stay tuned for more details on a European release, along with many more reveals at the Spike VGX Awards.
