id Software’s DOOM is almost here- the reboot of the classic first person shooter franchise looks pretty great, and as we near its launch, id Software and Bethesda are answering all the important questions. For instance, yes, the game will support mods, which should come as great news to long time fans (the modern modding scene was basically founded on the back of classic id Software games, after all).
But the new DOOM will resemble the classic ones in more ways than just that- according to the latest issue of Game Informer, which is running a cover story on the title, the new DOOM will include a very high enemy count on screen at a time- and considering just how great the game looks, that’s pretty impressive, to be honest. And, much like the classic DOOM, the new game includes backtracking and hidden secrets, for those who like going off the beaten path.
NeoGAF forum member kinaesthete did a full summary of the informaton, which you can check out, if you want to. DOOM is set to launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC this Spring.
