Bioware seems to implementing new open world mechanics to the Dragon Age series with Dragon Age: Inquisition. According to a new preview from Official PlayStation Magazine, players will be able to utilize new keep-building mechanics for capturing enemy strongholds.

In the preview, the player will be able to work with support characters to capture and then maintain an enemy’s keep in order to unlock new quests in the area. Each new keep will reward the player with new tasks. Another example of this very mechanic can be seen in Far Cry 3 and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag wherein radio towers and enemy forts can be captured respectively in order to unlock new quests.

You can also send different agents to these keeps in order to rebuild colossus, boosting troop morale, building sulphur mines in order to increase your Inquisition’s income, and much more. Does that interest you in some of the open world elements? We’ll come to see how they work out when Dragon Age: Inquisition releases in Autumn for Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
