Dragon Quest 11 Gets 9 Minutes of Gameplay Footage

Looks gorgeous, as always.

Square Enix is going to be launching Dragon Quest 11 in the west, at last, this September- but if that seems like too long of a wait to you, the good news is there’s some new gameplay footage for you to whet your appetite with. You can watch it below- it’s pure gameplay footage, which is fantastic (especially because the game itself just looks so damn good).

In an era where Japanese RPGs have begun to do well worldwide again- Final Fantasy 15, Persona 5, NieR Automata, Ni No Kuni 2, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade 2 are all among JRPGs that have hit it big in the west- hopes are high that Japan’s most beloved RPG franchise (it’s practically an institution over in the land of the rising sun) will finally find the audience it deserves here as well.

Dragon Quest 11 is due out on September 4, for the PlayStation 4 and PC. A Nintendo Switch version is also coming, but it’s farther down the line. The 3DS version will not be localized.
