Dragon Quest 11 Mod Seeks To Patch Orchestral Soundtrack In

Dragon Quest’s music, sounding like it is meant to at last.

I’m sure you know that we absolutely adore Dragon Quest 11, but one thing that we pointed out as a disappointment in our review for the game was the soundtrack- for a multitude of reasons, Square could not use the orchestral arrangements that exist for the game’s music, instead using MIDI samples. The MIDI samples sound really dated, and are at odds with how amazing the rest of the game is, and their usage is extremely off-putting, especially since orchestral renditions of the game’s music already exist.

Thankfully, on PC at least, people may get to play this game with its music sounding like it is supposed to. Modders are now working on getting the orchestral music for the game patched into it, and while the mod itself isn’t out yet, we have a short video showing us how the game will sound with proper music, which you can see for yourself below. Make sure to have your headphones on when you do, though!

Dragon Quest 11 is out now on PS4 and PC.
