This week the Nintendo Switch will get its first taste of the mainline Dragon Quest series in the form of Dragon Quest 11 S. The game is an enhanced version of 2017’s Dragon Quest 11 that released for PS4, PC and 3DS. But the team behind it looks at the game as something a little more than a simple port or remaster, but closer to something like a full remake.
In an interview with Nintendo Dream magazine, which you can see below thinks to Twitter user nindorim, several key members of the development team are interviewed, and they say that when it came to the Switch version, they wanted to do more than just a simple port job of the PS4 or 3DS version, instead opting for a much in-depth reworking of the game. We’ve seen a lot of the new content being showed off, too, so whatever you want to call it, S seems like quite the package (thanks to Niche Gamer for translations).
Dragon Quest 11 S releases exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on September 27th. A dedicated stream for the game is also set for tomorrow, so keep you eyes open for that.
