With ten Vocations to choose from, Dragon’s Dogma 2 offers endless gameplay loops to players that want to try different party combinations. But where does one learn the ultimate skill of each of these Vocations? This Dragon’s Dogma 2 guide is all about locating the Maisters for each Vocation.

Fighter Maister

The Maister for the Fighter is Lennart, and he can be found in Melve. Begin by completing the Scaly Invaders side quest, then continue on to Monster Culling, before returning to Melve and an encounter with a dragon in the quest Readvent of Calamity. It can take a day or more before Lennart will grant you the Maister’s Teaching.

Thief Maister

The Thief Maister is unusual, in that there are two of them, each of whom grants a Maister’s Teaching. Begin by accepting The Nameless Village side quest. Go to the Manor there and speak with Flaude until he can say no more, in order to acquire the first Thief Maister’s Teaching. Next, beat the trapped maze beneath the Manor to then speak with Srail to completion, and who will then grant you the second Maister’s Teaching for the Thief Vocation.

Archer Maister

The location of the Archer Maister is expectedly amongst the Elves in the Arbor. Start with Glywndr’s Gift of the Bow quest, and once he is confident enough to finish his upcoming competition, return to the Sacred Arbor to speak with Taliesen and acquire the Archer Maister’s Teaching.

Mage Maister

Find Eini at her house in Melve, and give her grand-daughter Trysha the five grimoires. Once that’s done, speak with Eini herself to acquire the Enchanter’s Almanac, thus unlocking the Maister’s Teaching for the Mage.

Warrior Maister

Beren will grant you the Maister’s Teaching for the Warrior, though finding him can be an issue since he tends to wander. Three known locations include the Borderwatch Outpost, Beren’s Tent, and Beren’s Childhood Home. Complete the quest Beren’s Final Lesson to receive the Implement.

Sorcerer Maister

Another Vocation with two distinct Maisters, the first is Trysha from the Mage Maister questline. She will still be with her grandmother Eini at her house in Melve’s north. The other is Myrddin in Checkpoint Rest Town. Begin with the latter, and complete The Sorcerer’s Apprentice quest to get the first Maister’s Teaching for the Sorcerer. Next, go to Trysha and complete the Spellbound quest as well to get her Maister’s Teaching.

Magick Archer Maister

This Maister’s Teaching quest begins with Gautstaft west of the Volcanic Island Camp. Embark on the Spring in Thy Step quest through him, and when it finishes in Geyser Hamlet, speak with Cliodhna. She will then unlock the Magick Archer Vocation. Upon speaking with her a second time, the Maister’s Teaching for the Magick Archer will also become immediately available.

Mystic Spearhand Maister

Find Sigurd at some point in one of several potential locations, including Melve, the Dragonsbreath Tower, and Harve Village. The Dragon that struck Melve during the Readvent of Calamity quest must be defeated first, before speaking with Sigurd to acquire the Maister’s Teaching for the Mystic Spearhand.

Trickster Maister

Luz within the Revenant location will grant the Trickster Vocation to the Arisen first. Achieve Rank 2 for the Trickster, and return to her at the Revenant Shrine, but this time head to its roof using the ladder there to speak to her physical form. She will then grant you the Maister’s Teaching for the Trickster.

Warfarer Maister

Not only does Lamond unlock the Warfarer Vocation, but he also grants the Arisen the Maister’s Teaching for the Warfarer. Simply exhaust his dialogue tree until he gives up the Implement. That’s all there is to it, as this is the only skill the Warfarer has that is unique to the Vocation.
