Leveling up in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is handled quite a bit differently than most players might be used to, compared to the vast majority of RPG experiences. While regular levels can be gained through the normal course of play, Vocation levels are their own mechanic. Being related to combat classes, they are obviously only increased through actual battle.
So how do you increase levels and vocation levels quickly? Let’s get a quick rundown of the best practices.
Farm XP Solo
Your character gains a bonus to Vocation XP if you venture into combat without the aid and assistance of Pawns. This is intended to reward you for your efforts, and you can leverage this on easy kill runs to gain the most bang for your buck in terms of Vocation XP.
Night Fights
While pursuing Vocation XP growth, you will find that there’s an increased enemy presence during the hours of darkness. If you want to manually adjust the time of day to your liking, just sleep at a camp site. There are also benches with cloth draped over the seat, where you can sit and doze off, allowing time to pass. As for checking the time, you can find that in the Pause menu, where the top position of the radial indicates the current time, and the approaching hours rotate from the right to the left.
Questing
Although quest completion in and of itself does not confer Vocation XP, the quests will put you in the way of some good XP earning enemies to farm, and break up the monotony of patrolling the highways and by-roads of the world. Moreover, time sensitive quests should be completed as quickly as possible, for the best outcomes. And of course, the regular XP will go towards raising your level as well.
Exploration
Range as far and wide as your level and confidence allows. The more of the map you open up, the better opportunities you will find for enemy spawns. It might be helpful to reverse the first tip, and actually have Pawns alongside you, as they will offer up verbal prompts to guide you to secrets. While small mobs of enemies are good for farming, larger creatures will give you a nice chunk of XP as well. If you find the perfect spot to farm for Vocation XP, you can return to it after resting, when the enemies will most likely have respawned as well.
That’s everything you can possibly do in order to quickly and efficiently gain XP and raise your level and Vocation rank in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
