Dreams Will Be Amazing In VR, Says Developer Media Molecule

"Seeing people create in Dreams in VR is amazing, and being able to wander through those worlds is amazing."

Do you remember Dreams? It was an abstract, creation and concept driven game that Media Molecule, the creators of LittleBigPlanet, debuted some years ago. We’ve seen it a couple of times since, but mostly, things have been silent on that front for a while- leading to many to speculate about the game’s status.

Siobhan Reddy, Studio Director of Media Molecule, spoke to Glixel about the game recently, and it sounds like it is coming along well- and that it will be incredible in VR. “It’s amazing. Seeing people create in Dreams in VR is amazing, and being able to wander through those worlds is amazing. It’s a total no-brainer for us to do that and to support it, because it’s just awesome. Every visitor that comes to our house wants to try VR. People who have no other interest in games are like, “Let me see it,” and then they are just always blown away,” he enthused.

Which makes sense- imagine something like Minecraft in VR. That is what Dreams itself sounds like here. Now the question is, when will the game even be out? It has been years since its debut, and we still don’t seem to be any closer to its release date.

We still don’t know when we will get to play it, but Media Molecule are talented- LittleBigPlanet was great, and Tearaway was fantastic. We can try and have faith that whenever it ends up coming out (please let that be soon), Dreams will be unique and worth the wait.
