DriveClub Announced for Playstation 4 From Creators of Motorstorm

Join clubs, issue challenges, layeth the smack down.

Motorstorm developer Evolution Studios stood up to the plate during Sony’s Playstation 4 event and showcased what was one of the more interesting new IPs of the night: the hyper realistic DriveClub. Check out the announcement trailer above.

Despite coming up with the idea for DriveClub, which integrates a sort of social media driving where you can form clubs with other drivers, almost 10 years ago the developer waited until there was hardware powerful enough to do the game justice. Which is a way of saying that the PS4 is really powerful and their game is like no other.

In other words, hyperbole. Thankfully, DriveClub helped raise expectations rather than lowering them. This could also be attributed to the game still looking like a work in progress, despite its great looks. And that’s never a bad thing.

No release date set for DriveClub thus far, but it would be interesting to see what Polyphony Digital has to say about this.
