DriveClub Getting Server Updates This Week

Your connection issues should be sorted out soon.

DriveClub

Evolution Studios’ DriveClub is almost unrecognizable from the state that it launched in a year and a half ago today; the game, when it launched, had a paucity of content, numerous bugs and glitches, loads of broken promises, and it barely functioned. Today, that’s all been fixed, and we are left instead with a fairly competent, surprisingly enjoyable racer.

This has happened thanks to Evolution Studios’ relentless support for the title- after the problematic launch, they doubled down on the game, and gave it free updates and DLC until the game lived up to the vision with which it had originally been pitched. And that kind of support will continue- this week, for example, DriveClub is due to get a new server update that fixes multiple connection issues players have been having recently.

It’s good to see, in an era when so many games, including Sony’s own, often don’t get support beyond the first year of their release, that Evolution Studios is still committed to their product. It gives me more opf an incentive to support their next game, whenever it does come out.
