Sony and Evolution Studios’ racer, DriveClub, will be getting private lobbies later this year, according to the game’s director. “[Private lobbies are] very much happening and you’ll be playing them this year for certain, but I can’t give you a date just yet,” he said on his Twitter, meaning that the long requested feature should be added to the game some time within the next four months

DriveClub will also benefit greatly from the announced PS4 3.00 firmware update; the firmware update adds support for saving and sharing PNG screenshots, over the standard JPEG screenshots that the PS4 currently supports. PNG screenshots utilize lossless compression, meaning they would do a game like DriveClub, as well as its Photo Mode, justice.

“One other great thing for 3.0 which those taking photos in will love is support for PNG screen captures,” he said, noting the update’s advantages for the game.

DriveClub is out now exclusively on the PS4.
