Techland continues to increase the scope of Dying Light following its successful release in January. After allowing support for user mods near its launch, Techland has announced that it has released story and map making tools for players to build their own scenarios.

“All PC players can now take on the role of game designers and build their own quarantine zones. The Dying Light Developer Tools allow for the creation of brand-new maps, custom stories, and insane scenarios limited only by the imagination of the author.” The content can be accessed and shared via Steam Workshop and allows you to either take place in brand new missions set in the game’s world or simply blow up lots of zombies and use them in playful creations.

The Developer Tools will subsequently be expanded in the coming days with new assets, functionality and features. Considering the free content that Techland provided with Dying Light, including new weapons and a separate Hard Mode, it’s great to see it extending the game’s life further. Stay tuned for news on any intriguing mods that pop up.
