Techland is a studio known for its co-op zombie action games. The studio made a name for itself with Dead Island on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC; then earlier this year, they repeated the feat with Dying Light, which placed the emphasis on the parkour traversal through an infected world.

People might have been expecting Techland to make a sequel to Dying Light, or Dead Island, or maybe make a new game in the same mould. But, er… they didn’t do that. Their newest game is… FIM Speedway Grand Prix 15.

The new racer is being handled by Techland Games Warszawa, the studio’s Warsaw subsidiary, while the main Techland team in Wroclaw continues working on Dying Light with post launch content.

“Speedway is the essence of immense power, adrenaline and… brakeless racing!” gasped studio boss Marek Soból. “I strongly believe that FIM Speedway Grand Prix 15 will be the best speedway simulator ever made by Techland. We treat it as a completely new beginning for the brand.”

In case you’re wondering about that ‘best speedway simulator by Techland’ quote, it turns out Techland made several speedway games before- albeit not in nearly fifteen years.

FIM Speedway Grand Prix 15 will launch later this year on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Check out the announcement trailer below.
