Dynasty Warriors Origins

Alongside PlayStation’s attendance at ChinaJoy 2024 (check out their lineup), Omega Force’s Dynasty Warriors: Origins is confirmed to appear. According to the franchise’s official Twitter, producer Tomohiko Sho will appear during Sony’s live broadcast to showcase new gameplay.

Though scheduled between 1 PM and 2 PM (presumably JST), Sony hasn’t yet provided a date for the broadcast, but the livestream link is up on BiliBili. As a new title in the series, Dynasty Warriors: Origins promises the “largest armies ever seen.” The Three Kingdoms and its various battles still serve as the backdrop, and you’ll still hack and slash your way through them while working alongside allied troops.

However, in a first for the franchise, players will control an original “nameless” hero. Their role and impact on the story, which could be a prequel to the mainline titles, has yet to be outlined.

ChinaJoy 2024 runs from July 26th to 29th. Dynasty Warriors: Origins launches in 2025 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Stay tuned for updates in the meantime.
