E3 2012: Dead Space 3 Officially Announced

Posted By | On 04th, Jun. 2012

EA started off its E3 2012 presser in style, by unveiling Dead Space 3, the third installment in the survival horror series by Visceral Games.

The game stars a new main character, has drop in-drop out co-op, has new locations such as a frozen, haunted planet, and frankly, looks awesome.

The game looks slightly trippy, with loads of colors and flashing lights. Frankly, a bit disappointingly, it doesn’t look all that scary anymore, looking more like a third person action survival game than anything else, with giant monsters and people replacing the… zombies? There’s also a cover system, and a focus on explosions more than the slow paced brooding horror of the first two games. Dead Space 3 might just be this series’ Resident Evil 5.

Dead Space  is due out in February 2013. Check out the gameplay video and the trailer below.
