Overall, the annual E3 show has decreased in importance, as other conferences have been founded and things like digital showcases have risen in prominence. Still, it’s considered the cornerstone show of the gaming industry for the time being. This year the show is in danger of not happening, though, due to the global outbreak of the coronavirus. There’s also issues behind the scenes, it seems, as the creative directors are dropping out.

Via their official Twitter account, iam8bit confirmed they are no longer going to be creative directors on the show. They wish the show well, depending on it still happening obviously.

Of course, what it meant for them being “creative directors” of the show isn’t clear either. We heard the ESA, the governing body behind E3, planned to revitalize the conference in the face of several major players dropping out of the show. We don’t know what the new show would be like, only that it had a big focus on things like celebrities and influencers, but whatever it was, iam8bit won’t be a part of it now.
