Microsoft made some big headlines recently when it announced that it will be acquiring Activision Blizzard in an all-cash deal of nearly $69 billion. However, it doesn’t seem as though acquisitions are over just yet- and people can maybe expect other major players in the market to respond to the ABK news with their own acquisitions.

According to a recent Financial Times report (via Pure Xbox), EA just might be the next big company to potentially be acquired by the likes of Microsoft, Google, Apple, Meta, Sony, or others. The company is valued at $38 billion, and with a strong presence in the mobile space, the publishing giant seems ripe for acquisition. Of course, it also depends on whether EA would want itself to be acquired by a tech giant or not.

However, it should be noted that this is just speculation at this point. It’s highly unlikely at this point that Sony bounces back with such a massive deal, and it’s also pretty unlikely that Microsoft follows up on the ABK deal anytime soon with another major acquisition.
