Anticipation surrounding the return of EA’s college football games was high in the lead-up to EA Sports College Football 25 earlier this year, and as many expected, the game has continued to enjoy impressive commercial success, especially in the United States.
In fact, as per Circana analyst Mat Piscatella on Bluesky, EA Sports College Football 25 has now become the best-selling football game of all time in the US. For clarification, that’s based on dollar sales (i.e. revenue generated from sales). It has surpassed the record previously held by Madden NFL 07, and interestingly enough, has also become the second-highest selling sports games in the US to date by dollar sales, behind only NBA 2K21.
Upon its release, EA Sports College Football 25 quickly surpassed Helldivers 2 to become the bestselling game of 2024 in the United States. EA announced that the game had also seen more than 5 million players in its first week.
