It’s finally happened – FromSoftware and Bandai Namco finally revealed the first official gameplay trailer for Elden Ring. Set in a new world created by Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R.R. Martin, the story focuses on the Tarnished as they wield the Elden Ring for everyone’s sake. Check it out below.

There’s a lot to glean from this reveal trailer. Mounted combat, along with the ability to launch from one’s mount and attack enemies, was showcased. There are dark dungeons, enormous structures and numerous imposing bosses – including a four-winged dragon that spews fire and throws lightning bolts. The dodge roll also makes its triumphant return though it seems players can make some rather high jumps as well.

PvP was also seemingly showcased along with different NPCs (with the tease of what could be Covenants). Perhaps most exciting is that a release date was also provided – January 21st 2022. Along with Xbox One, PS4 and PC, Elden Ring will also be coming to Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
