A new patch went live yesterday for FromSoftware’s Elden Ring on PS5 and PC. While its effect on performance has yet to be confirmed, it does improve issues with Easy Anti-Cheat’s start-up on PC along with fixing a bug causing “unexpected” game closures. However, some Xbox users reported the inability to connect online due to a version mismatch.
The issue occurred if a player didn’t have Calibrations Ver. 1.0.2.1 and App Ver. 1.02. Instead of connecting online, they would receive the message “Network Status Check Failed.” FromSoftware has since confirmed in a new tweet that the issue “should now be fixed.” We’ll have to wait for more details and feedback to see if any other issues come up. For now though, Xbox players should now be able to engage in co-op and PvP along with seeing other players’ messages.
Elden Ring is currently available for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. Along with being a massive critical success, it’s the third biggest retail launch in the UK with sales that are 26 percent higher than Dark Souls 3. Check out our review here for more details.
We are also pleased to report that the online issues Xbox users have been facing (e.g. "Network Status Check Failed") should now be fixed.
Thank you for your patience in this matter.
