Activision is getting ready to work on a new video game franchise. The company has announced the founding of a new internal studio, dubbed Elsewhere Entertainment. The studio, headquartered in Warsaw, Poland, will be focused on a new narrative-based AAA franchise.

Elsewhere Entertainment counts developers that have worked on industry heavyweights like The Last of Us, Uncharted, The Witcher, Cyberpunk, Destiny, Tom Clancy’s The Division, and Far Cry.

“Built from the ground up, Elsewhere Entertainment is a premier and standalone studio dedicated to establishing an environment that inspires bold and diverse ideas,” said Activision in its announcement. “The team’s underlying mission encourages everyone to explore and collaborate creatively to craft a franchise with an enduring legacy that resonates far beyond games.”

Along with its own resources, according to Activision, Elsewhere Entertainment will also have additional resources in the US, as well as full access to Activision’s own resources and tools to help it kick off development.

It is worth noting that Activision hasn’t announced a new title as of yet, and considering how new Elsewhere Entertainment is as a studio, it will likely be quite some time before any announcements regarding the new narrative-focused AAA franchise.
