Escape From Tarkov Alpha Gets Extended

New features being added at a nice clip.

Battlestate Games, the developer behind Escape From Tarkov has announced that the game is going to remain in Alpha, at least for a little bit. The game has been in the Alpha phase since at least August of last year and so far, there hasn’t been an official announcement as to when this phase might eventually come to an end.

If you are wanting to get your hands on this FPS/MMO, then it appears preordering the title carries a pretty good chance. The developers have said preordering the game gets people about a 75 percent chance of getting into the Alpha.

The Extended Alpha is about to bring some new features for people to try out as well. The company issued a statement laying out the features:

  • A new raid location, the Woods – wide open spaces, dense forest vegetation, entirely new tactics and game experience
  • Weapon failure and repair system
  • Ability to create groups for going into raids together
  • Improved game physics
  • Additional performance optimization and fixes for existing issues
