Everwild

The next game from famed studio Rare, Everwild, has definitely piqued some interest. While we have yet to see what the game will be like in-game, we’ve gotten a series of trailers that highlight a gorgeous art style and a look of an intriguing world where you must mingle with a fantastical version of nature. Now, some behind the scenes give us a little information about what to expect.

We saw a trailer not long ago at the Microsoft July event, which you can see here. Now they have provided a commentary video featuring Executive Producer Louise O’Conner and Art Director Ryan Stevenson that discusses some elements. The first and foremost is that you are taking on the role of an Eternal. As an Eternal, you are tasked with defending nature, explaining all the various interactions you see with the animals and flowers. While there isn’t a lot of details about what you do exactly, one thing they do say is that part of your task is defending the world’s flora and fauna from bug swarms that are tearing through the land. Take a listen in the trailer below.

Everwild will release at some point for the Xbox Series S/X and PC. As of now, there’s been no word on what time frame to expect it in.
