Something may be happening with Turtle Rock Studios’ Evolve. The game’s official website has been updated with a countdown clock which ends on July 7th, 7:30 AM PDT. There’s also something called #StageUp but pretty much no explanation as to what that could mean.

It’s not like Turtle Rock has been completely silent till now. It had been posting job listings for a new IP over the past few months. That being said, if this is something Evolve related, it’s far from being the new IP we were hoping for.

Evolve released in February 2015 and managed to ship 2.5 million copies. Despite criticism of its lack of content and heavy emphasis on micro-transactions, Take Two has classified it as a “long-term” franchise. While it could certainly return sometime in the future, what’s happening with it right now? We’ll have to wait till tomorrow to find out. Stay tuned for more information in the meantime.
