“Explicit display of sexual organs” not allowed in iPod games- Apple

Posted By | On 10th, Sep. 2010

Apple’s guidelines on what an app should be like for their iPod/iPhone were pretty vague and elusive, and several people took advantage of that and made… “explicit” games for the device. Apple have come all out though, this time, and they have released new guidelines, without the care for elusiveness or language serenity.

This is what they write:

“If your app looks like it was cobbled together in a few days, or you’re trying to get your first practice app into the store to impress your friends, please brace yourself for rejection. We have lots of serious developers who don’t want their quality apps to be surrounded by amateur hour.”

All games on iPod are banned basically? Kidding. I love my iPod… not as a gaming machine.

Games can’t have “explicit display of sexual organs” or anything that “stimulates erotic emotions.”

“Explicit descriptions or displays of sexual organs or activities intended to stimulate erotic rather than aesthetic or emotional feelings”

Shudder shudder. Wow Apple. You’re bold. *eats apple*

Sorry, I was hungry.
