Fallout 4

While there has been a lot of talk about Fallout 4’s S.P.E.C.I.A.L system this summer, it’s been hard to fathom just how this system was going to work in the massive open world game. Now we’re able to actually get a look at the system in action with the release of the first in what is supposed to be a series of videos. For those who aren’t aware, S.P.E.C.I.A.L stands for, Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility and Luck.

The first video that has been released by Bethesda centers on showing off how leveling up Strength will make your character that much better. Of course, because this is tied to Fallout 4, the video doesn’t actually show a character getting powered up. Instead it’s done in the style of a Vault-Tec informational film. That means that we’re still not going to get a truly full grasp on how this thing works for a little while yet, though you can at least get an inkling.

We’ve already seen that this new system is going to make the game quite immersive and Bethesda says that what direction you choose to go with S.P.E.C.I.A.L. will determine how your character changes and develops. The company has also said that this also makes the game have better replayability because you can go one direction in one playthrough and another direction in a second. Check out the video and get ready for more relatively soon. Fallout 4 launches for the PS4, Xbox One and PC on November 10, 2015.
