Fallout 4 Footage Was Shown Behind Closed Doors At Gamescom

Bethesda wasn't ready to have this hit the general public.

Fallout 4

Bethesda has made a pretty big deal out of the fact that they waited as long as they did to announce Fallout 4, in part because they wanted as short a marketing campaign as possible. In particular, Bethesda didn’t want its developers working on special demos or special footage in order to show off at gaming conferences like Gamescom. It appears that doesn’t mean the company didn’t put any footage together, because a video of a behind closed doors presentation has leaked online showing some of Fallout 4’s gameplay.

The posted video  shows the main character rummaging through the ruined world in order to find supplies as well as fighting off a couple of enemies that are lurking after the nuclear attack. The easiest way to tell this is in fact leaked, and wasn’t for public consumption is that it isn’t an official video but something shot by someone in the audience and someone posted it on YouTube. One has to wonder just why Bethesda didn’t want this going public, at least not yet. Perhaps it’s something that is slated to potentially change.

Maybe the footage is simply a little too rough to be showing off to the public. It’s also possible that Bethesda simply wants to stick to its pronouncements that it isn’t going to be showing off a ton of footage. Fallout 4 is set to launch on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One on November 10.
