With the end of this year almost here, and everyone and their mothers paying video games these days, we are seeing a lot of outlets and media channels posting their favorite games of the year (stay tuned for GamingBolt’s own Game of the Year awards, which will go live soon). One of these is Amazon UK, which isn’t a media outlet as much as it is probably the biggest retailer selling video games worldwide.
Amazon didn’t choose their own winner, however- they held a poll between December 3rd and December 14th to know the people’s favorite game. There was some pretty strong contestants but Bethesda’s Fallout 4 won, which is a big deal, because it means that the game actually got the British to vote for something other than a FIFA game.
“The line-up of games released this year has been one of the best in recent memory, with titles such as Fallout 4 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt offering great choice for our customers,” Amazon said. “The fact that there were some huge titles not included on the list is a great example of how strong this year’s releases have been. We’re always excited to hear from our customers about the games they love the most, and results such as this help to continually improve our site to suit their tastes.”
Of course, they could have chosen far better than they did, since better video games than Fallout were out this year, but eh- at least another Call of Duty or Assassin’s Creed didn’t win this. It’s the smaller victories that count, I suppose.
