Months of delays and issues later, Bethesda Softworks has announced that The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition and Fallout 4 will be receiving mod support on PS4. PS4 Pro support has also been confirmed.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition will support these first when it’s out on October 28th (including native 4K on PS4 Pro). However, Bethesda noted that PS4 mods could only use assets included with the game. No external assets. Fallout 4 will receive these features when Skyrim Special Edition has been wrapped and will feature “enhanced lighting” and other features on PS4 Pro.
“We and Sony have worked hard to make this possible. We are excited finally to get modding to our PlayStation fans who have supported us for so long.Modding has been an important part of our games for over 10 years, and we hope to do even more in the coming year for all our players, regardless of platform.”
