Activision has announced that the upcoming Fast & Furious: Showdown will be released in PAL territories on May 24th. The game will tie in to The Fast and the Furious 6, and be released for PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Nintendo 3DS.

Showdown will take place alongside the upcoming movie, and focuses on cooperative play. It will also bridge the events between the fifth and sixth movies, for those interested in how that Shakespearean affair works out.

Of course, there will be plenty of exotic cars and even more exotic locations to race through as you take part in several high-stakes missions.

We’re kind of skeptical about the game given how it’s been developed by Firebrand Games – the studio behind the Wii and 3DS versions of Need for Speed: The Run – but it will at least provide an incentive for boosting profits. In other words, another cash cow for Activision till the next Call of Duty is announced. Stay tuned.
