While SNK offered its share of character reveals for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, it’s recently focused on already-announced fighters. Following Rock Howard and Terry Bogard, it’s now the turn of Hotaru Futaba. Check out her moves below.

Hotaru utilizes Chinese martial arts and is skilled at gathering energy to empower attacks, like with the upward kick, Kobi-Kyaku. She can also release it against enemies, as seen with her short-range projectile, Hakki-Shou. Hotaru is otherwise a quick fighter, which feeds into the new REV system – there’s nothing like adding a burst to her signature Shoshou Shin.

However, my favorite part of the trailer is seeing Tenshou Ranki rendered in full 3D for the first time. Suffice it to say that it’s devastating. As for her story, Hotaru is still looking for her brother, teased in Garou: Mark of the Wolves to be Gato. Despite his denial of this, she’s still determined to meet him again.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves launches in early 2025 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PS4, and PC.
