In case you were wondering, EA Sports’ FIFA 18 is a thing and it will see the return of The Journey mode. This was the story campaign where players could play as Alex Hunter, an amateur footballer who rises up through the ranks to become a professional. Alex Hunter will return this time around and it seems that the stakes are even higher than before. Check it out below.

Like last year’s iteration, FIFA 18 will be using DICE’s Frostbite Engine. Though the footage showcased was in-engine, it still highlighted the quality that Frostbite brings to the table. Of course, it remains to be seen if the story will be as compelling and offer new mechanics as in FIFA 17.

FIFA 18 is currently slated to release on September 29th for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, Nintendo Switch and PC. The previous gen versions won’t have The Journey mode unfortunately. Stay tuned for more information from EA Play as it progresses.
