Final Fantasy 15 GDC 2017 Panel Will Talk About The Game’s Epic Music

A look behind the game's music.

Over the last few weeks, there has been quite a bit of talk about what the development team has planned for the future of Final Fantasy 15. One thing we know isn’t planned for the game is a Nintendo Switch version of the title.

However we will know more about the game’s development in a GDC panel that will kick off on March 3. Among the things this panel is going to be talking about, is how the developers made the music for this game both epic and interactive. The talk has been teased with a new trailer where Audio Programmer Sho Iwamoto talks about a new tool the development team used called MAGI.

“Interactive music is common in AAA games, but in games like ‘Final Fantasy’ that always have a strong melody line and musical progression, it doesn’t go well in the same way. Square Enix worked to make an intelligent music system called “MAGI”, that allows composers to create music in any tempo or measures and has customized sync points to make it interactive while remaining epic,” Iwamoto stated.
