During its special panel at SXSW 2025, Koijma Productions revealed a new trailer for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Teased by director Hideo Kojima, it’s ten minutes long and showcases tons of new gameplay while confirming a release date of June 26th for PS5. Pre-orders begin on March 17th, with the Standard Edition retailing for $69.99.
There’s a lot to unpack from the trailer, story-wise. A here-to unseen individual (played by Luca Marinelli) who could be a younger version of Cliff Unger. Fragile attempting to teleport herself and Lou away from danger. Shipments are automated, and a plate gate connects the continents while servers line the Beach. Massive B.T.s that can engage in kaiju-like battles (in which Sam haplessly participates).
The standard gameplay loop of traversing gorgeous environments while delivering packages remains. Sam has impressive new technology, including hover pads to transport additional goods and an all-terrain vehicle that wades through water. New dynamic weather, like sandstorms, is also noticeable.
