Final Fantasy 15 has had one of the most historically protracted development cycles in the history of video games. While it is still not on par with something like Duke Nukem Forever, the game has been in development in some form or the other for ten years now, suffering because of Square’s poor management and because of the transition to HD hitting the company harder than they imagined.
In a brand new video courtesy of IGN, Square Enix discuss this long and often bumpy road that the game has had, discussing the difficulties of development. It’s a refreshingly open and candid video, and it shares more with us about the troubled development of the title.
Also, there are a bunch of new screenshots that have been released from the upcoming Final Fantasy 15: Kingsglaive, a new movie set before the game that depicts the events leading up to the game. You can check those out below. Final Fantasy 15 is due out on PS4 and Xbox One on September 30- a PC version of the game has been discussed, and will probably begin development after the launch of the console versions.
