A new gameplay showcase for Final Fantasy 16 has been released through IGN, showing off the game’s Hunt Battles. Check out the video, which shows off a Hunt Battle again a Rank C Grimalkin, below.

As is traditional for quite a few Final Fantasy games, Final Fantasy 16 features a series of side quests where you can hunt down epic monsters for various rewards. Hunt Battles in Final Fantasy 16 seems to feature rewards ranging from monster parts to plain old money.

In the video, protagonist Clive is trying to hunt down a Grimalkin, which seems to be hiding behind a horde of Wild Nakks, which are considerably weaker creatures and attack in packs. Once enough of the Wild Nakks have been dealt with, the Grimalkin enters the fray. Much like any other combat scenario, the Grimalkin also has a stagger bar which can be filled up, opening it up to massive damage.

The video also shows off a battle against a more fantastical hunt mark—a Rank S Atlas. Given its higher rank, Atlas is a much more involved fight that can be comparable to some of the more epic boss fights Final Fantasy is known for.
