A Multi-Part Series
Square Enix have made the controversial decision to release the game in an multi-part experience. How this will be received by the audience is something that remains to be seen. However as of right now, they are making the game in parts for a few different, and crucial reasons. One reason is that Square Enix doesn’t want to be sitting on the game for several years — they can deliver it much faster in parts. There’s also the possibility that each part will be as big as a full version game.
