Final Fantasy 7 Remake- Lack of News Has To Do With Square Focusing on Release of Kingdom Hearts 3

More information on the game may come following the release of Kingdom Hearts 3.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is widely anticipated- people have been waiting for a remake for the beloved PS1 RPG for years now, and when it was announced at last at E3 2015, there was widespread celebration at the dream finally coming true at last. And yet, what should have been a sure thing has become entangled in Square’s mire of delayed release dates and growing fan anxiety on when it may come out, and what it might be like when it does come out- a situation exacerbated by Square not sharing much about the game these days.

Speaking a recent interview (via Siliconera), director Tetsuya Nomura acknowledged that there has been lack of official news from Square recently, which has even led to widespread speculation and fear-mongering (such as the news that the game won’t come out until 2023); but, he noted, the delay in sharing information about the game is not because of development issues the game may have run into, but rather, because Square is prioritizing the release of Kingdom Hearts 3, and other games, for now, and therefore focusing on sharing information about those games that are due to come out first.

With Kingdom Hearts 3 due out in January next year, hopefully this means that, in turn, we will start to hear more about Final Fantasy 7 Remake in the coming years.
