Square Enix has released a new trailer for Final Fantasy XIV, and it shows some of the gameplay and exploration. The game is an MMO and won’t be free-to-play because Square Enix does not want to adopt that business model so soon.

The game launched in 2010 and was in a very bad state and had to be reworked on to be released on the PS3 and PC. The company has invested a lot of resources in making sure Final Fantasy XIV turns out to be profitable and gamers like it.

The history of Eorzea has been marked by a cycle of prosperous “Astral” and disastrous “Umbral” eras. Now the land stands poised to enter another age of decline, a period known as the Seventh Umbral Era. On the eastern border, the Garlean Empire masses its troops for invasion, while the native beastmen tribes summon their deities.

The video gives us an idea of how the game will actually play like and is pretty impressive as well.
