Fire Emblem Fates

Nintendo announced that Fire Emblem would be debuting on the Switch with Fire Emblem Musou/Warriors. While we didn’t get a release date, the future of the franchise will be the subject of today’s Nintendo Direct presentation. It kicks off at 5 PM ET, January 18th and can be seen over on Twitch.

We’re not really sure what to expect aside from more information (and probably gameplay) on Fire Emblem Warriors, which is being developed in collaboration Koei Tecmo of Dynasty Warriors fame. There’s some interest in the mobile Fire Emblem title that’s also in development so hopefully that makes an appearance.

Fire Emblem has been one of the stronger franchises for Nintendo lately thanks to Fire Emblem Fates which saw the biggest launch in the series’ history for the United States. Both of its versions – Birthright and Conquest – managed to sell more than 300,000 units combined.

Could another Fire Emblem on 3DS possibly be announced? We wouldn’t count on it but stay tuned for the Direct presentation to be sure.
