Campo Santo’s acclaimed first person adventure Firewatch is being made into a movie. The developer has signed with Hollywood production house Good Universe (of Don’t Breathe fame) to produce a film and “projects that can bridge both the video game and feature film worlds.”

As per The Hollywood Reporter, the movie currently doesn’t have a director, cast or release date. Campo Santo founder Sean Vanaman stated that, “When we met Good Universe we were floored by how they recognize, cultivate, and produce incredible stories. It’s rare you meet another group that shares so many of your values and makes the process of creating things even more exciting. We can’t wait to see what we make together.”

Given Firewatch’s appeal lay primarily in the story, it will be interesting to see if a brand new tale – one that doesn’t rely on player choice – will appeal to fans. Wait and watch, we suppose so stay tuned for more information in the future.
