For Honor Post-Launch Maps and Modes Will Be Free

In-game currency used for unlocking something though.

Following up on Ubisoft’s Rainbow 6: Siege, For Honor will offer new maps and modes after launch completely free.

Speaking to Eurogamer, game director Damien Kieken said, “We don’t want to split the community. So everything that’s matchmade [including] new modes and new maps, will be given for free to the players. We’ll also have other free content. We are a big team supporting the game after launch.”

Like Siege, there will be a store for earning currency in-game (namely, Steel) which can be used to unlock things. It hasn’t been made clear what exactly you can purchase but if it’s anything like Siege, then new heroes seems like a possibility.

For Honor will be out on February 14th 2017 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. What are your thoughts on maps and modes being made free? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information, namely when the game’s closed beta is taking place.
