Former BioWare veteran Mark Darrah is returning to the studio to help with development on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. According to VentureBeat, Darrah is working with the studio as a consultant, and EA is also bringing in the Mass Effect team to help in development.

Darrah had originally announced his departure from BioWare back in December 2020, and has previously worked as a lead programmer on the Baldur’s Gate games. Darrah also has other credits under his belt, including as director of Sonic Chronicles, and as executive producer of the Dragon Age series.

The team working on the next Mass Effect is reportedly able to help out on development with Dragon Age: Dreadwolf because the next Mass Effect game is currently still in its pre-production phase.

“Our studio is focused on creating the best Dragon Age: Dreadwolf while the core Mass Effect team continues their pre-production work,” said BioWare general manager Gary McKay to VentureBeat. “We continue to iterate and polish Dreadwolf, focusing on the things that matter most to our fans. As we further connect this new experience with the series’ legacy Mark Darrah will join the team as a consultant, bringing with him years of experience working on Dragon Age. We’re proud to have this team, with strong leadership at the helm, working together to realize the vision we have for the game.”

EA has also revealed that Dragon Age: Dreadwolf has been in its post-production stages since September. The team currently has the ability to do complete playthroughs of the upcoming RPG, allowing developers to hone in on individual issues the game might have and need fixing.

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf has been in development for quite a while. BioWare recently also explained the game’s skill trees, progression, and customisation options in a blog post.
