A former Naughty Dog employee, Quentin Cobb, a prominent figure in the developer’s fanbase with credits in Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us, left the company amicably in early 2017 to pursue an opportunity at Daybreak Studios to work on Just Survive. Now it appears Cobb is back with Sony in a Sr. Game Designer capacity, but the interesting part is where.
Cobb himself revealed the news on his Twitter account today, saying only that he was back under Sony, but unable to reveal anything about what project he’s working on or even what studio he was working at. “It’s good to be back!” Said Cobb. When another user asked him what studio he was working with, Cobb could only say it was secret.
Quentin Cobb started at the bottom as a QA tester for Activision, eventually moving up to have key design roles in the multiplayer of Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us, with some involvement in the single player as well. His return to working on Sony IP is certainly something to be celebrated.
Today was my first day as a Sr. Game Designer for Sony today. I can't wait to talk about the project I'm working on and what the future holds. It's good to be back! pic.twitter.com/QNl4DMrrOM
