Fortnite Data Miners Seem To Have Unearthed Evidence of a “Heavy Sniper Rifle”

Apparently, this will be used to counter campers who hole up in their towers.

Fortnite

Fortnite is incredibly fun, but it has a problem as far as its endgame goes. You see, the game, which lets you build your own structures with resources and materials you pick up along the way, has seen its endgame being reduced to nothing but players building ridiculously elaborate towers and structures, and staying within them with long range weaponry to camp and take out other players on the map.

It’s not fun when the whole survival oriented shooting game pivots into a game of virtual legos, and while Fortnite‘s popularity has not been affected by this, Epic Games has recognized that building is a bottleneck strategy in the game. Which is why they have been working to make it less viable for a while now.

The latest of these attempts may be the Heavy Sniper Rifle, which has been unearthed by data miners on Stormshield.one. The special property this rifle has? It can pierce through the first wall it hits, meaning your tower is no longer a sanctuary for you. The drawback, of course, is longer reloading times.

For now, this isn’t officially in the game- that said, Epic will probably introduce it in an update in the coming weeks, so maybe rethink some of your strategies if your end game relies only on building and camping.
