Fortnite players suffered quite the outage recently due to database issues that brought servers offline. Though services are up and running currently, certain features like version 2 of the 50v50 limited time mode have been delayed. To make up for fans not being able to play, Epic Games is doling out free goodies to players on all platforms.

“It’s been no secret that over the past 24 hours we’ve been experiencing issues with our services that have prevented many of you from playing Battle Royale and Save the World. We’re sorry. We know how frustrating this has been. We messed up here,” the developer said on its website. In the coming week, you can expect a “detailed postmortem” on how things went wrong and how Epic plans to improve things.

The free items items include a Back Bling item (pictured below) for Battle Royale players and a Troll Stash Llama for Save the World players. You can find both of these items in each mode’s in-game store. Keep in mind that these are available for a limited time so pick them up as soon as possible.

But wait, there’s more – Battle Royale players will also receive a pack of Battle Stars. These can be used to level up the Battle Pass and unlock rewards. Meanwhile, PvE players will receive some seasonal gold. These rewards will take some downtime to distribute so expect to see them in next week’s update.
