Fortnite Goes Into Early Access on July 25th

Free to play version arrives in 2018.

Epic Games’ long in development title Fortnite finally has a release date…for Early Access. The developer announced that the tower defense, zombie survival title will be releasing on July 25th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Fortnite will go free to play in 2018.

Players can pay for access starting at $39.99 with the Founders Pack. This will provide players with a head start, accessing the game on July 21st. Other packages like Deluxe ($59.99), Super Deluxe ($89.99) and Limited Edition ($149.99) are also available with their own assortments of weapons, boosts and so on. Fortnite is developed Epic Games along with People Can Fly (of Bulletstorm fame). It was first revealed in 2011 as “Minecraft meets Left 4 Dead” and entered Alpha state in 2014. After what seems like forever, it’s finally releasing. What will be the response to Early Access though? Time will tell so stay tuned for more information especially as E3 2017 approaches.
