Fortnite might be a seven-year old sensation, but it is an ongoing one even now, as evidenced by the massive numbers of players it continues to attract with its big headlining events.

The game recently staged the Remix: The Finale event, an in-game concert starring Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Ice Spice, and the late Juice Wrld, and it was a big one. Taking to Twitter, Epic Games revealed that Fortnite saw a peak of more than 14 million concurrent players during the event, which is a new all-time record for Fortnite for a concurrent players during an in-game concert. On top of the concurrent in-game players, the event was also streamed by more than 3 million viewers online.

Fortnite has certainly grown from strength to strength as the years have gone by, with Epic Games managing to keep finding ways to not only expand the game’s audience, but to keep that growing audience consistently engaged, so that they keep coming back to the game. Having seen how volatile and fickle the live service market can be, one can’t help but be impressed by Fortnite’s constant looming presence.
