Bad Guitar Studio’s free-to-play competitive shooter FragPunk is out today for PC. However, it’s been delayed for Xbox Series X/S and PS5 to an unknown date.
The developer confirmed this is due to “unexpected technical challenges in optimization and adaptation.” Instead of “rushing the console release” and providing a “potentially poor user experience,” it’s delaying the console versions to ensure a “comparable experience” to the PC version.
On the bright side, the developer has prepared extensive compensation. Players who pre-ordered the Pioneer Bundle on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store will receive refunds alongside $10 worth of free in-game currency. Though a new pre-order isn’t planned, the bundle will become available again for a limited time after the console versions launch.
If that’s not enough, console players will receive all rewards earned in-game spanning the start of Season 1 until the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions go live. This includes currency, cosmetics and XP, with more details to be revealed later.
